For players like Carlos Beltran and Justin Verlander, a World Series title is the cap on a career already worthy of Cooperstown.
This is probably an easy enough article to write for any team with veteran players. I don’t have strong feelings about the Astro’s vets but they’re generally players I’ve liked watching. I never thought about comparing Roberto Clemente and Carlos Beltran for their off the field work but perhaps that analogy will be more apt over the next few months.
The playoffs were good this year. This is what baseball holds as promise every year and even though none of the teams I root for made the playoffs, I thoroughly enjoyed October baseball. Now to wait for March to come around.
